U.S. National Whitewater Center
The world's largest artificial whitewater river. Kayaking, white water rafting, rock climbing, zip lines, and trail runs — all 30 minutes from Uptown. Free to walk the trails.
NoDa Arts District
Charlotte's original arts neighborhood. Gallery crawls every 1st & 3rd Friday, live music at Neighborhood Theatre and Visulite, and some of the best coffee shops in the city.
South End Bar Crawl
A mile-long stretch of bars, breweries, and cocktail lounges along South Boulevard. OMB Brewing, Sycamore Brewing, and Wooden Robot anchor the best brewery crawl in the Carolinas.
Uptown Rooftop Bars
Catch Charlotte's skyline from rooftops at Fahrenheit, VUE Charlotte, and 5Church's rooftop terrace. Best at sunset on a Friday.
Mint Museum Uptown

Carowinds Theme Park

Freedom Park
Charlotte's most beloved park. A lake, walking trails, tennis courts, and a farmers market on Saturday mornings in Dilworth. Great for runs and picnics.
Carolina Panthers at Bank of America
One of the most electric NFL experiences in the South. Bank of America Stadium sits right in Uptown — tailgate on the streets before kickoff, then walk to the game.

McDowell Nature Preserve
715 acres of forested trails along Lake Wylie. Excellent bird watching, hiking, and a nature center.
Lake Norman
The largest man-made lake in North Carolina, 45 minutes north of Uptown. Boating, fishing, and lakeside dining.
Anne Springs Close Greenway
2,100 acres of preserved land in Fort Mill, just across the SC state line. Trails, horseback riding, and picnic areas.
